Below is the circuit: Cell -> Conductor/Insulator -> A Bulb-> Switch -> connect back to Cell. When switch is ON and a Conductor is connected, bulb will glow When switch is ON and a Insulator is connected, bulb will not glow

Cell/ Battery (one celled or two celled)...>Conductor/ insulator...> Switch...> Bulb...> Connect to negative terminal of the battery. If switch is On and bulb will glow then it will be conductor If switch is ON and bulb will not glow then it will be insulator.

Only through a conductor current can pass from one end to another if an insulator is connected in a circuit current will not flow and light will not glow even after switch on.
